ABOUT US
Foto D'Arte Firenze was founded in 2008 by the heirs of Nannoni with the aim of continuing the photographic work in the art sector that had been carried out for decades by Paolo, a renowned and esteemed photographer from Florence.
It is from this desire that Cristian Ceccanti, the founder of Foto D'Arte Firenze, addresses all those in need of photographic services in the field of art (publishers, museums, photo libraries, academies, libraries, universities, art historians, collectors, antique dealers, artists, and restorers), not only carrying out photographic campaigns but also providing services for the digitization and preservation of historical archives.
Since 2015, alongside its specialization in photographic shoots for art, the company has offered its FINE ART printing service for the production of certified photographic prints, ensuring the highest quality standards currently achievable for color fidelity and longevity. This service is made available to museums for creating facsimile copies of drawings and prints that, for conservation reasons, cannot remain exposed to light for extended periods.
The company’s long-standing collaborations with the most important National and International Museums, prestigious Photo Libraries, Universities, and Academies, as well as participation in ambitious historical archive digitization projects, such as those of the Uffizi Galleries and the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence - Max-Planck-Institut, stand as solid evidence of the quality of the services offered in the art sector.
Since 2022, Cristian Ceccanti has been appointed by the Museum of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence to carry out photographic services for artworks during their restoration phases. This collaboration has further solidified his specialization in this sector, allowing him to work with a wide variety of artifacts and materials (paintings, sculptures, bronzes, marbles, hard stones, goldsmithing, crystals, and archaeological finds). In addition to producing images in visible light, he has embarked on a path of specialization in multispectral techniques for cultural heritage diagnostics, beginning to create images using ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) light.
In December 2024, the Uffizi Galleries entrusted Eredi Nannoni, Cristian Ceccanti’s photography business, with the task of photographing artworks in the Florence Museum Complex. This prestigious and demanding two-year assignment is a significant recognition of their work.
The company Eredi Nannoni, led by Cristian Ceccanti, is registered and authorized to operate on the MEPA (Electronic Marketplace for Public Administration).
Regarding the procedure by the Ministry of Culture for the establishment of a shortlist of expert photographers for the assignment of tasks supporting the Central Institute for Cataloging and Documentation, Cristian Ceccanti has been included in the list since September 2022.
